Employment-Based Adjustment of Status Update – October 2025

Starting in October, USCIS will no longer use the “Dates for Filing” chart for employment-based adjustment of status applications. Instead, USCIS will follow the “Final Action Dates” chart from the Visa Bulletin.

📌 What This Means:

If your priority date is current under the Final Action Dates chart, you can apply for:

  • Adjustment of Status (Form I-485)

  • Work Permit (Employment Authorization Document)

  • Travel Permit (Advance Parole)

Because these windows can be short-lived, it’s crucial to prepare and file your applications as soon as possible to take advantage of this opportunity.

✅ Summary:

  • Beginning in October, USCIS will use the Final Action Dates chart for employment-based adjustment of status.

  • If your priority date is current, you can submit applications for adjustment of status, work permit, and travel permit.

  • Act quickly—these filing windows may close without much notice.
