Law Office of Muhammed Kus PLLC is an immigration practice based in Lower Manhattan, representing individuals, families, and employers before USCIS, the U.S. Department of Labor, the immigration courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Türkçe hizmet verilmektedir.

The firm was founded by Attorney Muhammed Kus, who is licensed to practice law in New York and in Ankara, Turkey. Originally from Nevşehir, in the Cappadocia region of Turkey, he earned his first law degree from Ankara University Faculty of Law, graduating third in a class of 960, and went on to earn an LL.M. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He was admitted to the New York Bar in July 2019, and to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, where he brings mandamus actions and habeas corpus petitions.

Those federal filings matter in two recurring situations. When USCIS or the State Department has held an application far beyond any reasonable processing time, a mandamus action can compel the agency to make a decision. When someone is held in immigration detention without a lawful basis, a habeas corpus petition can challenge the detention itself.

Our office is in New York and most of our clients are here, but immigration court is a federal system. We represent clients in removal proceedings across the United States, including detained matters far from New York, and appear remotely where the court permits it.
